Haumaru Birthday Celebrations: Community Fun Day

Looking for free fun for the kids? The University of Waikato Haumaru Sport & Recreation Centre is turning one, so come celebrate with us!

There'll be games, prizes, food trucks and plenty of action for all ages, on Saturday 23 of May, as we celebrate one year of hoops and volleys at everyone's favourite sports centre. Test your speed against your mates or bounce down the inflatable slide, there's lots of fun to be had from 10am - 2pm, Saturday May 23rd at 483 Cameron Road. See you there!

Frequently asked questions

Most participants are adults; however, youth are welcome to participate. All teams have a mix of female and male players and we supply the referees. All you need to do is turn up with your team and play!

If you’re keen to take part but don’t have a team you can submit your interest with us and we’ll do our best to find one for you. Registering your interest does not guarantee you a place, but we will do our best to get you in a team playing your preferred sport on your preferred day.

Social sports leagues are a great way to keep active while having fun and socialising with others. You can join no matter what your skill level.

Leagues range anywhere from 8 – 15 weeks depending on the time of year and the elected sport. All leagues culminate in a final for all teams followed by a prize giving. The cost to register your team depends on the length of time the league runs.
